Project no. 08CT4669990220, funded by the Operational Program 2014-2020 of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the Sicilian Region, Thematic Objective 1 - Research, Technological Development and Innovation, Specific Objective 1.1 - Increase in the innovation activity of companies, Action 1.1.5 - Support for the technological advancement of companies through the financing of pilot lines and early product validation and large-scale demonstration actions, Scope: SmartCities and Communities, Sub-scope: Smart Economy (www.euroinfosicilia.it)www.euroinfosicilia.it)
The 3DLab-Sicilia project aims to create, develop, validate and promote a sustainable regional infrastructure, the first of its kind in Sicily, consisting of 3 centers for virtual and augmented reality and for 3D visualization.
The project also aims to validate the equipment and services of the infrastructure with a series of "use cases" that consistently intercept the themes of the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Sicilian Region and whose applications and products can, after the end of the project, be placed on the market and generate profit. A salient element of the 3DLab-Sicilia work plan is to create a "liquid lab" within the infrastructure.
Validate and demonstrate infrastructure equipment and services with a series of applications (use cases) consistent with the themes of the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization 2014-2020 (S3 Sicily).
Sustainability
Federate the infrastructure with other existing ones in Italy and abroad, in order to create new markets, and define a management, business and sustainability model after the end of the project
Create a "liquid lab" within the infrastructure to allow the rapid development of use cases and applications that use VR/AR and 3D visualization and provide 360-degree support to all players in the "quadruple helix" of innovation
